My maternal heritage is American, i.e. a mixture of European descendants having immigrated from Europe several generations ago. One line on my mother's side has been traced back to John Caruthers, born around 1740, who immigrated from Scotland or Ireland. The Caruthers family was created in Dumphries County, Scotland. My mother's heritage include the names of Davis, Hooper, Reeves, and Caruthers (and the many spelling variations of Caruthers) |
